The work

About our post construction cleaning

Renovation and construction work leaves behind more than just sawdust. A fine film of drywall dust settles into every pore of the space, and adhesive residue, paint spatter, and packaging debris get left in corners and on fixtures. When you are trying to move furniture in or open the doors for business, that mess is in the way. Post construction cleaning is the final step that takes the space from work site to usable room, and it is a different kind of cleaning than a routine tidy-up. The dust is finer, the residue is stickier, and the surfaces are brand new and easy to damage if cleaned the wrong way.

The crew starts by removing large debris and protective coverings, then works top to bottom so nothing gets re-dusted. We vacuum ceilings, vents, and light fixtures with a HEPA filter to catch the fine particles, then wipe down walls, baseboards, doors, and window frames with a microfiber cloth and a mild cleaner that will not streak or etch fresh paint. Windows are cleaned inside and out with a squeegee, and we pull out the sticky residue from labels and tape on glass and hardware. Cabinets, closets, and drawers get wiped inside, and floors are vacuumed and then mopped or wiped according to the surface, whether that is hardwood, tile, or carpet.

No two post construction cleanings are the same, and the differences come down to the site itself. A small bathroom remodel produces a fraction of the dust of a whole-house renovation, so the time and the cost scale with square footage and the number of rooms. The type of work matters too: drywall sanding creates the finest dust that gets everywhere, while tile cutting and demolition leave heavier debris that takes longer to haul out. Access to the space matters, such as whether the crew can park close to the door and whether the building has an elevator or only stairs. The condition of the surfaces also matters, because unsealed grout, raw wood, and fresh paint all need different care.

On the day of the clean, the crew arrives with all the supplies and equipment loaded in the vehicle, so nothing is left to chance. We protect the floors and any finished areas we are not cleaning, and we work room by room so you can see progress as we go. At the end, we do a walkthrough with you so you can point out anything we missed, and we clear out all the debris and waste we generated. Before the crew arrives, you should remove any personal belongings and valuables, and make sure the water and power are on. After we leave, the space is ready for furniture, fixtures, or your first day of business.

HEPA vacuuming

Drywall dust is fine enough to pass through a standard vacuum and blow right back into the air. A HEPA filter traps those particles so they do not settle again.

Squeegee windows

Wiping a window with a rag leaves streaks from the minerals in the water. A squeegee with a clean blade pulls the water off the glass in one pass, leaving it clear.

How the job runs

Our 4-step post construction cleaning process

01

Debris removal

We clear out large scraps, packaging, and protective paper from the work area. This opens up the space and keeps the fine dust from getting ground into the floors.

02

Top-down dusting

Starting at the ceiling, we vacuum vents and light fixtures, then wipe down walls and window frames. Working top to bottom means the dust falls onto surfaces we have not cleaned yet.

03

Detail wipe-down

We clean inside cabinets, closets, and drawers, and remove adhesive residue from labels and tape. We also wipe down switch plates, door handles, and other hardware that collects dust.

04

Floor finishing

Floors get vacuumed first to pick up the dry debris, then mopped or wiped according to the surface type. We use the right cleaner for tile, hardwood, or carpet so nothing is damaged.

Why Maryland Residential and Janitorial Services LLC for post construction cleaning

  • Right tools

Post construction dust is not the same as household dust. We bring HEPA vacuums, microfiber cloths, and the specific cleaners that work on fresh paint, unsealed grout, and new glass without leaving streaks or damage.

  • No shortcuts

The job is not done when the visible dust is gone. We clean inside cabinets, behind doors, and on top of trim, because that is where the fine dust settles and where you will find it later if it is skipped.

  • Move-in ready

The point of this service is that you do not have to clean a brand new space before you use it. We finish with a walkthrough so you can confirm every surface is ready for furniture, fixtures, or your first day of work.
